4. Regular exercise can reduce the risk of cancer in women – but only with sufficient sleep. The National Cancer Institute has watched nearly 6,000 women for almost 10 years. Women in the upper half of the body’s activity level showed a 20-percent reduction in cancer risk, but sleeping less than seven hours a night resulted in decreased benefits.

5. Walking in the wind, in the water, or while wearing a backpack burns about 50 calories per hour more than walking without resistance. People who wear pedometers also tend to burn more calories and lose weight.

6. Oatmeal, citrus fruits and honey can boost your sexual drive and improve fertility. Oat is a chemical that releases testosterone into the blood stream, vitamin C improves sperm count and mobility, and vitamin B in honey helps your body use estrogen, which is a key factor in blood flow and excitement.

9. Fruits and vegetables can help your body make its own aspirin. Benzoic acid, a natural substance in fruit and vegetables, causes people to produce their own salicylic acid, a key component that gives aspirin the anti-inflammatory properties.

10. 20-minute sleep can improve your overall vigilance, increase your mood and increase productivity. Additionally, your heart can benefit from sleep – a six-year study showed that men who napped at least three times a week had 37 percent lower risk of death associated with heart failure.
